The Ancient Celts practiced the art of distilling and had an expressive name for the fiery liquid they produced - uisge beatha - the water of life. To the Celts its power to revive tired bodies and failing spirits, to drive out chills and rekindle hope was considered a veritable gift.

You are invited to join University of Edinburgh alumni, parents and friends living in the greater DC area to sample some Scotch Whiskies. The tasting will include four different Whiskies from the Ledaig and Murray McDavid Distilleries, a discussion led by professional Scotch steward and a souvenir rocks glass for each participant. Light snacks will also be served.

Please note that the University Club has a “business casual” dress code:
Business casual for men, is defined as creased slacks (no denim), collared shirt (polo/dress shirt) and non-athletic shoes. Comparable attire is required for ladies (no denim).
